The work developed by Amiens-based ’Pôle National Cirque et Arts de la Rue’ (National Circus and Outdoor Arts Centre) aims to create a focus on circus and outdoor arts in the Picardy Region, through production, programming and outreach.
The ’Pôle National Cirque et Arts de la Rue d’Amiens’ is made of 3 arts organisations : Cirque Jules Verne, Le Hangar – Outdoor arts centre, and the Circus School - professional training centre.
Le Hangar is a creation centre for outdoor arts residencies and production, and is part of the wider national network of outdoor arts creation centres.
It aims to bring together artistic practice and experience through inviting contemporary artists in residency. Such artists would be aware of the importance of building a relationship between their work, the communities, the public space and the town.
The Pôle National Cirque et Arts de la Rue d’Amiens produces La Rue est à Amiens / Fête dans la ville outdoor arts festival as well as a touring programme throughout the Picardy Region (May to October) through Confluences Nomades.
